As per a report from ESPN this evening, Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope looks set to be sidelined for the next 3 months with a shoulder injury.

The Clarets went head to head with Scottish outfit Aberdeen in a Europa League qualifying clash last Thursday, with the two sides having eventually played out a 1-1 draw at the Pittodrie Stadium.

However, while Burnley were likely content with the result in the end, with it having taken an 80th-minute strike from Sam Vokes to even clinch a draw, Sean Dyche’s men were left to rue the outing based on the personnel front, after goalkeeper Nick Pope was forced off with an injury with just 14 minutes on the clock.

Pope picked up a should problem, with it having been revealed in the aftermath of the matchup that the 26-year-old, who was part of England’s squad at this summer’s World Cup, actually dislocated his shoulder.

And, as reported by ESPN this evening, Pope is said to have undergone a scan on his injury earlier today, with the results having revealed that the shot-stopper will need to undergo surgery to ensure a full recovery.

As such, Pope is expected to be out of action for around 3 months, a major blow to Burnley’s prospects following the breakout campaign enjoyed by the former Charlton man last season.
